Why Won't My Wolf Hood Turn Off?
Most often it is still hot: the heat sentry holds a Wolf hood on until the exhaust cools. A downdraft may be finishing its delay-off run. If the hood keeps going with everything cold and the knob or button at off, switch it off at the breaker and call Wolf Repair Woodinville, (425) 585-2373.
Two-Minute Check
Run it in order. Nothing here needs a panel off, a ladder or a wire touched.
- Turn the burners off and give the hood several minutes — a blower still clearing hot exhaust drops back to your setting by itself.
- On a pro hood, turn the right-hand blower knob fully counterclockwise until it stops; a knob that spins on without a stop may be broken.
- On a downdraft, look for the DELAY light — that timed run can last up to ten minutes and ends with the chimney still raised.
- To stop a downdraft yourself, press UP/DOWN, or press LOW and then LOW again; Wolf notes that HIGH and MEDIUM cannot switch it off.

Two features that look like a fault
The heat sentry on Wolf pro hoods, and several Wolf cooktop hoods, keeps the blower going until the exhaust drops below about 186°F — sometimes a while after a long sear.

Wolf downdrafts have no sentry but a delay-off: press DELAY and the blower runs on about five minutes, or ten from high or medium, the second five on low.
When it is ours
A hood that runs on stone cold, ignores its controls or only stops at the breaker has a fault in the speed control, a switch or the board.
